Update - Joseph Closure for Marking on 8/18/2026
Oregon Department of Aviation sent this bulletin at 08/14/2026 09:20 AM PDTUpdate - Surfaces will be closed at the Joseph State Airport for airfield painting Tuesday August 18th.
These markings are the final coat as part of the recent surface seal project, which included crack seal, pavement patching, surface seal, and new pavement markings on the runway, taxiways, and apron.

Surface Closures and Project Phasing:
The runway, taxiways, and apron are expected to be closed in two phases and completed in a single day. The runway is expected to be closed from 7am to 12pm, and the taxiways and apron will be closed from noon to 6pm.
We will reopen each surface as quickly as possible.
Important Operating Information
(!) When the runway is closed, fixed wing aircraft will not be able to arrive or depart at Joseph until the runway reopens.
(!!)The runway may reopen while work is being done on the taxiways. Back-taxi on the runway may be required depending on taxiway closures. Access to tie-down parking and hangars may be restricted depending on taxilane and apron closures.
(!!!) Please check NOTAMs for the most current airport surface closure information. Helicopters may arrive or depart directly to/from open areas of the airport.
(!!!!) As always, please remain outside of, and avoid low flight over closed work areas. To ensure the surface cures properly, all vehicles pedestrians should remain off all surfaces while they are NOTAMed closed.
