Update - Chiloquin Runway and West Apron Surface Seal Project Starting July 22nd, 2026
Oregon Department of Aviation sent this bulletin at 07/21/2026 07:13 AM PDT7/21/2026 Update - Due to a recent fire in Klamath Falls, the Chiloquin State Airport Runway and West Apron Surface Seal Project will now begin July 22nd, 2026.
This project will include crack seal, pavement patching, surface seal, and new pavement markings on the runway and turn-arounds, as well as the west apron and taxiway connector.

Surface Closures and Project Phasing
The runway and west apron are expected to be closed for 9 days.
This project is being completed in one phase to get all of the work done as quickly as possible.
Project Schedule:
- Project start - Wednesday July 22nd
- The runway and west apron closed
- 7am Wednesday July 22nd - 7pm Friday July 24th
- 7am Monday July 27th - 7pm Saturday August 1st
- The runway and west apron closed
- Substantial completion - 7pm Saturday August 1st
Important Operating Information
(!) When the runway is closed, fixed wing aircraft will not be able to arrive or depart at Chiloquin until the runway reopens. Helicopters may arrive or depart directly to/from the east hangar taxilanes.
(!!) Please check NOTAMs for closure times and the most current airport surface closures.
(!!!) As always, please remain outside of, and avoid low flight over closed work areas.
