Update - Joseph State Airport Runway, Taxiway, and Apron Surface Seal Project Starting July 13th
Oregon Department of Aviation sent this bulletin at 06/29/2026 11:06 AM PDT6/29/2026 Update - The Joseph State Airport Runway, Taxiway, and Apron Surface Seal Project will begin July 13th, 2026.
This project will include crack seal, pavement patching, surface seal, and new pavement markings on the runway, taxiways, and apron.

Surface Closures and Project Phasing:
The runway, taxiways, and apron are expected to be closed for 8 days between 3 work areas. Each surface closure will be published via NOTAMs, a detailed schedule is listed below.
The work areas are designed to keep closure impacts to a minimum. We will reopen the runway as quickly as possible.
Project Schedule:
- Project start - Monday July 13th
- Work Area 1 (Runway) Closed
- 7am-7pm Monday July 13th
- 7am Wednesday July 15th through 7pm Friday July 17th.
- Work Area 2 (Taxiway Alpha between Alpha 1 and Alpha 4, and Taxiways Alpha 2, and Alpha 3) Closed
- 7am Tuesday July 14th through 7pm Monday July 20th
- Work Area 3 (Apron / Hangar Taxilane) Closed
- 7am-7pm Tuesday July 14th
- 7am Friday July 17th through 7pm Saturday July 18th.
- Work Area 1 (Runway) Closed
- Project completion - Tuesday July 20th

Important Operating Information
(!) When the runway is closed, fixed wing aircraft will not be able to arrive or depart at Joseph until the runway reopens.
(!!)The runway may reopen while work is being done on the taxiways. Back-taxi on the runway may be required depending on taxiway closures. Access to tie-down parking and hangars may be restricted depending on taxilane and apron closures.
(!!!) Please check NOTAMs for the most current airport surface closure information. Helicopters may arrive or depart directly to/from open areas of the airport.
(!!!!) As always, please remain outside of, and avoid low flight over closed work areas. To ensure the surface cures properly, all vehicles pedestrians should remain off all surfaces while they are NOTAMed closed.
