Correction - Please see below for corrections on availability of potable water and restroom facilities

Reminder: The Nehalem Bay State Airport has temporary limitations while the Nehalem Bay State Park (Park) undergoes construction through the summer of 2025.

Update: Beginning Friday May 23rd, Nehalem Bay State Park will reopen for day-use only.

Starting May 23rd, Aviators may:

  • Land, tiedown, and picnic
  • Walk the multi-use path and walk or get a ride out of the park during the day
  • Use restroom facilities at the Boat Ramp and south day use parking lots
  • Use potable water at the airport and day use areas.
  • Camp "under the wing"
    • All refuse must be flown out. If you bring it in, please take it with you on your way out

Still closed or restricted throughout the remainder of construction:

  • The main campgrounds and overnight camping sites on the airfield
  • Beach access through the closed campground areas.

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) anticipates the Park to fully reopen July 1st, 2025. Project completion and Park reopening is subject to change.
