Independence fly-over and salute to honor veterans on Memorial Day
25TH ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY SALUTE AT INDEPENDENCE STATE AIRPORT
INDEPENDENCE, OREGON – The 25th Annual Memorial to Pilots and Veterans-Independence State Airport will again honor local pilots who have made their final flight and military veterans on Memorial Day May 27th at 11:00am. This will be followed by a hot dog feed offered by Boy Scout Troop 38 of Independence.
All local pilots who have passed away within the previous year are eligible to be honored. The committee works throughout the year to identify possible honorees. The members of the Independence Airpark have presented this program for this service for 25 years. The founder of the program, Andy Anderson, passed away earlier this year and will be honored for his service to community and military.
Parking is available at Marquis Spa on Hoffman Road with free shuttle service beginning at 9:00am.
