Raising Community Awareness About Flood Preparation & Safety
May was Flood Awareness Month in Oklahoma, but it's never too late to raise awareness about Flood Prep & Safety! We all know that severe flooding occurs in Oklahoma more frequently in the spring and fall seasons. Even though May was Flood Awareness Month (and March is Flood Insurance Awareness Month), the reality is that a flood can happen at time of the year - and they do so somewhere in Oklahoma virtually every year.
To help state and local hazard mitigation partners to promote awareness and outreach throughout the year, FEMA has developed a library of hazard mitigation messages for state and local partners to use for their emergency management public outreach and social media.
The messages, graphics, and video links are displayed by calendar month, mirroring the Ready.gov Seasonal Preparedness Calendar. They are accessible and easy to use on your community social media platforms. We've featured just a few options below:

Due to the current public health situation, the OWRB's offices remain closed to the public until further notice. In the meantime, we have redesigned our "Contact Us" form to be more dynamic and efficient.
After providing your contact information, the form allows you to choose "Floodplain Management" from several available OWRB programs and services. Your request will be automatically routed to Floodplain Management staff.
