TSET Built Environment Grants fund changes to public spaces to make them safer and more inviting for physical activity and active lifestyles. These grants offer up to $80,000 for planning and design projects or up to $100,000 a year over two years for shovel-ready construction projects.
TSET Discovery Grants support new and expanded programs to address Oklahoma’s most pressing health issues. These programs focus in four areas: preventing tobacco use, children’s health, general health improvement or senior wellness. Discovery Grants provide up to $250,000 each year for up to three years.
Both grant opportunities are open to nonprofits, public agencies and entities, tribal nations and schools located in Oklahoma. The TSET Board of Directors is expected to make grant awards in May 2025.

Perspective: Julie Bisbee in the Journal Record
Oklahoma’s health challenges often put us in the national spotlight, but programs throughout the state offer much to be thankful for, especially this week of Thanksgiving.
Through increased access to healthcare, active spaces and early detection, these programs are reducing chronic illness and healthcare costs, strengthening our workforce and improving quality of life for residents. That’s something we can all be thankful for.

In this season of Thanksgiving and the holidays, Episode 49 of the TSET Better Health Podcast shines a warm glow upon health programs and trends in Oklahoma to be thankful for. Project ECHO Director Dr. Tara Jackson explains how the program extends health and medical expertise to underserved areas through tele-mentoring, and Cushing Asst. Superintendent Mike Wayland shares how the new Tiger Trail connects community members and all Cushing schools with physical activity.
"I'm really thankful for people wanting to learn, increase their skills to serve their communities. That just gives me great joy as someone who's in public health, said Jackson. "And again, [I'm] thankful for partnerships around our state because public health and education, these are big and complex issues and we need to work together."
The podcast is available on TSET's website and everywhere podcasts are listened to: Spotify, TuneIn, Stitcher, PodBean, Google Podcasts and Apple Podcasts.
