San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to ban the sale and distribution of e-cigarettes in the city. The ban hits close to home — quite literally — for JUUL Labs, since its corporate headquarters are based in San Francisco.

Regulators Slam E-cigarette Companies for Social Media Ads. U.S. regulators recently cracked down on four e-cigarette manufacturers. These companies failed to include a warning that nicotine is addictive in their social media ads or on their products. They will have 15 business days to address these concerns before further legal action is taken.

Tobacco Companies Provide Promos to Encourage Teen Tobacco Use. Recent studies have revealed that teens who were given promo items for alternative tobacco products were more than twice as likely to start using these products later. Opponents are urging the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to prohibit distribution of these materials to minors.
