Oklahoma Considers Raising Legal Tobacco Age to 21. Rep. Ben Loring submitted House Bill 1432* to raise Oklahoma’s minimum age for legally purchasing tobacco from 18 to 21. The initiative was launched in an effort to reduce youth access to tobacco products as well as the $1.6 billion in tobacco-related healthcare costs covered annually by Oklahoma taxpayers. *Correction: A previous version of this email listed Rep. Loring’s bill number as 2317. The correct bill number is 1432.
