Please be advised of a network security update that has been scheduled to start tonight, Monday, June 1, at 7 p.m.
Cloudflare WARP is a modern, lightweight security tool that will eventually replace Zscaler, our current virtual private network (VPN) that provides a secure connection to the State network when you’re on a different network. Cloudflare works quietly in the background to keep your internet connection secure, protect your data, and ensure faster, more reliable access to state applications like BOOST. It also provides a more stable connection and reduces costs for the state.
Tonight, Cloudflare WARP will be installed on your workstation. Zscaler will remain active and will not be disabled. Once the installation is complete, you will notice a new gray cloud icon appear in the bottom-left corner of your taskbar. No action is needed on your part tonight.
Over the next few days, a group of staff will be testing Cloudflare to ensure everything is working as expected. Once testing is complete and we are confident the transition is ready, we will follow up with simple instructions to complete the transition and begin operating on Cloudflare.
