We’ve recently seen an increase in fraudulent text messages and emails claiming to be from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or Department of Public Safety (DPS). The messages ask for payment on money owed for unpaid violations. These messages are scams.
As a reminder, Service Oklahoma does not collect fines or request personal or financial information through text messages or emails and neither do our licensed operators.
If you receive a message like this, we recommend that you: • Do not click any links. • Do not reply or share any personal information. • Delete the message and report it as spam.
Law enforcement also reminds Oklahomans that legitimate traffic fines are handled through local courts or county court clerks, not through text messages from agencies.
If you'd like to help share this information with friends, family or customers, we've posted it on our social media channels along with a notice on our website.
Thank you for staying alert and helping keep our community safe.
