We have an exciting update to share as we continue building toward the launch of BOOST (Bringing Our Operations and Services Together).
Gear Shifts BOOST introduces exciting new process changes known as Gear Shifts. These updates are shaped by nationwide best practices and standards, customer feedback and employee input. Gear Shifts include a new online pre-application, the move to a single primary credential and the removal of fingerprinting during issuance. A full list of Gear Shifts is available on the intranet.
Earlier this week, Driver License Examiners were assigned a short Gear Shift training focused on customer interactions and building on system training in BOOST. Because many Gear Shifts directly impact in-person driver license transactions, DL staff have this additional role-specific training. That said, these changes affect workflows across the agency. Supervisors will continue sharing updates relevant to their teams, and all staff are encouraged to visit the intranet to see the full picture of what’s changing with BOOST.
New E-Services Platform One of the most exciting changes with BOOST is the transition from OkCARS and SOK Online to Navigate. Navigate will be the customer’s one-stop shop for online services, including license renewals and vehicle registrations. It features a new look and feel while retaining the reliability of the FAST e-services platform our customers and Motor Vehicle team currently rely on.
Navigate for Business is the partner-facing side of the platform. Training is underway, and communications are being developed for partners including Designated Examiners, Third Party Examiners and others.
Ready for launch? All online and in-person driver license and motor vehicle system services will be temporarily unavailable from Thursday, Feb. 12 through Monday, Feb. 16. This planned downtime is necessary to seamlessly transition from our current systems to BOOST. Staff will continue to report to work on Thursday, Feb. 12 and Friday, Feb. 13 to support transition activities and go-live preparation. We will share more information soon about the activities on these days.
Have you completed your training? We are nearing the halfway point of Application Tier training. Please be sure to complete all assigned training by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11. This tier of training is designed to give you time to explore the system, run test transactions and practice so you feel confident and prepared on day one.
As always, thank you for all you do. The countdown is on, and we truly appreciate the time, effort and dedication going into a smooth and successful go-live.
