BOOST, Oklahoma’s new driver license and motor vehicle system, goes live on Tuesday, Feb. 17. As we prepare for this milestone, we have an important update in preparation for launch.
From Thursday, Feb. 12 through Monday, Feb. 16, all driver license and motor vehicle systems and services will be unavailable.
Service Oklahoma locations will be closed to the public, but staff will still report to work.
Why this Closure Window is Essential This outage is required to safely transition our current systems to BOOST. During this time, teams across the state will:
- Convert decades of DL and MV data into the new platform
- Ensure new hardware is installed at more than 270 Service Oklahoma and licensed operator locations
- Finalize connections with state and national partners
- Complete final checks to ensure every system comes online stable and secure
This outage window ensures we return on Tuesday with the most stable and secure system possible.
There may also be an opportunity for limited, coordinated live transactions on Monday, Feb. 16 through friends-and-family or other structured testing events. More details will be shared as plans are finalized.
The Improvements with BOOST Ahead All the hard work over the last year has built a system that will be faster, easier and more reliable. BOOST is designed to support:
- A unified system for DL and MV
- Faster driver license transactions, with early testing showing a 50% reduction in many basic DL times
- Guided workflows that support accuracy and reduce avoidable errors
Public awareness messaging will begin after the first of the year to give customers ample notice and information about the new system.
Thank you to everyone for your continued work and preparation as we move toward this milestone. BOOST will strengthen the quality, accuracy and ease of service across Oklahoma, and we appreciate everything you are doing to get us ready for launch.
