Preparing for the BOOST Service Outage
Project BOOST goes live on Tuesday, Feb. 17. To smoothly transition from our current systems to BOOST, all driver license and motor vehicle systems will be unavailable from Thursday, Feb. 12 through Monday, Feb. 16.
During this period, Service Oklahoma locations will be closed to the public. Staff will still report to work and will support cutover activities across the state.
This outage window allows the project team to complete critical work, including final data conversion, system validation, hardware readiness and partner connectivity. These steps are essential to delivering a stable and secure system at launch.
Public awareness messaging regarding the closure for customers will begin after the first of the year to ensure clear communication well ahead of go-live.
Cutover Planning Moves Forward
Last week, the first Project BOOST cutover planning meeting was held with FAST and subject matter experts.
The meeting focused on reviewing the detailed cutover plan that will guide activities before, during and after go-live. Teams walked through the details of each phase together to confirm responsibilities, identify dependencies and flag areas that need follow up.
This working session marked an important shift from high-level planning to minute-to-minute execution. Additional cutover planning meetings will continue in the coming weeks to ensure alignment and readiness across all teams.
Training Underway Statewide
BOOST training is well underway statewide, with teams currently participating in Specifics Training focused on job-specific tasks and day-to-day workflows.
This phase builds on earlier foundational learning and allows employees, licensed operators and partners to practice the processes they will use most often in BOOST. Sessions are designed to support accuracy and give teams hands-on exposure to the system ahead of go-live.
When the Application Training Tier begins in January, the BOOST sandbox environment will open, giving users the opportunity to practice transactions in a real-world setting. This next tier introduces additional scenarios and complexity, helping teams feel confident using the system before launch.
Support remains available throughout training. Dedicated BOOST Support Teams in Microsoft Teams are monitored by FAST and Service Oklahoma staff. If you are in training and need support, use your Teams channel to ask questions and get assistance.
System Readiness: Testing and
Data Finalization
As Project BOOST moves closer to go-live, teams are focused on the work that ensures the system is stable, accurate and ready for statewide use.
End-to-End testing runs through Jan. 19, 2026, and it is validating full scenarios across driver license and motor vehicle workflows. This phase confirms not only that individual transactions function as expected, but also that complete processes work smoothly from start to finish, including handoffs, exceptions and long customer histories. Findings are reviewed and addressed daily to strengthen system reliability ahead of cutover.
At the same time, data verification and merging efforts are finalizing the information that will convert to BOOST at launch. This work includes consolidating more than 109,000 records, removing duplicate customer files and correcting inaccuracies that have accumulated over time. The result is cleaner customer records, fewer issues in future customer transactions and greater confidence that staff are working from accurate information on day one.
Together, this work represents a critical step in our modernization and supports a smooth transition to BOOST.
Countdown to Feb. 17, 2026:
61 Days to Launch!
Each milestone brings us closer to delivering a modernized, unified driver license and motor vehicle system for Oklahoma. Thank you for the continued focus, collaboration and commitment as we move toward go-live.
