In case you missed it, our latest employee Town Hall covered key agency wins, legislative updates and what’s ahead as we move full speed toward system modernization. Click here to watch the replay.
Here are a few highlights:
-
Legislative session: Our top priority this session was ensuring any new laws aligned with our modernization efforts and timeline. With fewer bills than usual affecting the agency, we’re glad to report that no new implementations will delay the BOOST rollout next February. Lawmakers also showed continued support by approving a flat budget even during a tight budget season.
-
REAL ID success: May’s deadline came and went smoothly—thanks to your hard work. We saw a 64% increase in visits to our locations during the week of the May 7 federal deadline, with an average wait time of just 36 minutes. That’s astounding when you compare it to other states that faced long lines and overwhelmed systems.
-
Modernizing our footprint: We’ve opened a new Tulsa location at The Farm Shopping Center, relocated our Stillwater office in partnership with local leaders and are relocating to a larger space in Norman later this summer to meet growing demand.
-
System upgrade progress: BOOST, the new system for both driver license and motor vehicle services, is now over 80% complete on the driver license side. We’re on track to finish development in August, allowing plenty of time for testing ahead of the full rollout planned for Presidents Day weekend 2026.
-
Electronic titles launch July 1: Vehicle titles will be issued electronically by default to consumers, marking another big step forward in modernizing motor vehicle services.
-
Leadership Office Hours: Coming soon—a new opportunity to meet virtually with agency leadership in an open forum setting.
We’ll be sharing more on upcoming legislative changes and the launch of Virtual Office Hours, so stay tuned.
We can’t miss the opportunity to say thank you. Thank you for showing up each day with purpose, heart and commitment to serving Oklahomans.
