Last Friday, June 6, thousands of Oklahomans received a text message claiming to be from the Oklahoma Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), stating they owed money for unpaid traffic violations.
Those texts were part of a scam targeting not only Oklahomans but people across the country. Service Oklahoma took swift, proactive steps to protect and inform the public — issuing a public statement, launching a statewide awareness campaign through social media and updating our website with official information and recommended actions.

Boat Registration Renewal
Last week a press release was sent out reminding Oklahomans that all boat registration renewals are due by July 1. News 9 in Oklahoma City told viewers that if you are hitting the lake this summer, you need to renew your registration and must display a carbon monoxide warning sticker. This story also ran on multiple outlets across the state.
