Welcome to REAL ID Talk! Your weekly update on all things REAL ID—from statewide progress and staff shoutouts to tools and ideas that help us keep up the momentum. Leading up to the May 7, 2025 federal deadline, these updates will keep you informed, connected and celebrating our wins together.
As we shared last week, we’re rolling out our statewide REAL ID public awareness campaign: “No, Really.” Running through the end of the year, this campaign reminds Oklahomans the deadline is real—and quickly approaching. Through radio spots, digital billboards, social media and a touch of humor, we’re helping people understand what a REAL ID is, decide if they need one and take action.
REAL ID by the Numbers (as of March 31)
We’re making progress, and it’s all thanks to the Service Oklahoma team!
- 2.1 million+ REAL ID-compliant credentials issued statewide
- 42.5% of active Oklahoma credentials are now REAL ID-compliant
- More and more Oklahomans are taking advantage of expanded access through Seasonal Saturdays and after-hours appointments
REAL ID Mondays & Wednesdays Are Live!
Our after-hours appointments are officially off to a strong start and gaining media attention across the state. Since launching last week, more than 650 appointments have already been scheduled, with 117 customers served in just the first week. That’s a big win for access and for the customer experience.
As a note, REAL ID appointments are optional. Walk-ins are always welcome during standard business hours and Seasonal Saturdays.
We’ll continue to remind the public that the best path is the one that works for them—whether that’s booking a spot during extended hours or joining the list using our live wait map and online waitlist.
