REAL ID Extended Hours Get Extensive Coverage TV stations are alerting their viewers about our extended hours to help more Oklahomans get their REAL IDs.
Starting April 7, we will be open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday at six select locations—Chickasha, Hinton, Muskogee, OKC Classen, Stillwater and Tulsa Eastgate. During those times, our team will exclusively help customers apply for their REAL IDs. Service will be by appointment only and we encourage customers to book their times in advance at service.ok.gov/REALID.
As of this afternoon, 135 customers have already signed up.
Today, KOKH FOX 25 and KWTV News 9 in Oklahoma City, as well as KTUL NewsChannel 8, KOTV News on 6 and KOKI FOX23 News in Tulsa, ran stories telling their viewers that our REAL ID Mondays and Wednesdays initiative will add hundreds of new scheduling opportunities each week, allowing customers who are too busy during normal business hours to still get their gold-star credentials before the federal May 7 deadline.
Starting that date, a REAL ID may be needed to board domestic flights, visit military bases or certain federal buildings unless the traveler has an unexpired U.S. passport or another acceptable form of ID.
Even after the deadline, our extended Monday and Wednesday hours will continue through the end of the year. To provide more flexibility for customers wanting to get their REAL IDs, we will offer Saturday appointments in May at the aforementioned six locations, as well as after-hour appointments every weeknight during deadline week (May 5-9).
Of course, you can also encourage your families and friends to visit us during regular business hours to become REAL ID ready!
