CDL Modernized Skills Test Drives TV Coverage This week, KOTV News on 6 covered our launch of the new CDL Modernized Skills Test, a more effective way to ensure Commercial Driver License applicants are ready to hit the road.
On Thursday, we published a news release announcing the launch of the new CDL skills test, which now requires applicants to complete four specific maneuvers. This change makes it easier for drivers to prepare, unlike the previous system that included multiple test versions without revealing which maneuvers would be required in advance.
As News on 6 told its viewers, the new test makes the process more consistent and predictable for CDL applicants while reducing unnecessary hurdles. The station also mentioned that other states have reported higher pass rates and better-prepared drivers after implementing the new CDL skills test.
Our plan is to roll out the new CDL skills test across the entire state by next month. We have a dedicated webpage for first-time CDL applicants here, which includes the link to the new driver manual and other resources.
