Welcome back to the BOOST Report—your go-to source for all things Project BOOST, Service Oklahoma's new driver license system of record!
In this issue we’re excited to share the latest updates on the system, including development progress and the live demo so you can see it in action! Read on for more details, and as always, share your feedback and questions here.
BOOST Announcement
Thanks to the dedication of our incredible subject matter experts and the FAST team, we’ve made significant strides over the past few months.
This isn’t just about building a new driver license system—it’s about laying the groundwork for the future. In their latest update, Jay and Diedra share a project update and what’s coming next—be sure to watch the video for all the details.
Development Progress
Project BOOST continues to make steady progress across key areas.
Since Nov. 1, we’ve completed 79 definitions and made 89 business decisions to shape processes and ensure compliance with legal requirements. The team is also working through verification items—the first looks at system development. Of the 256 verifications, 53 are now complete.
All kickoff meetings with our interface and integration partners are complete, and we’ve transitioned into regular monthly and biweekly meetings to support development and test integrations. Mock conversions are also underway, where we load all our data into BOOST as if it were go-live weekend. This process helps identify and resolve potential errors before the official launch. Additionally, purification meetings are in progress to clean up existing data in the current system and determine the best approach for converting it into BOOST.
Our testing efforts are ramping up with the addition of a new FAST testing coordinator. Last month, we hosted the first of many test scenario workshops to ensure all business processes are thoroughly evaluated and validated ahead of go-live.
We’re continuing discussions with AAMVA as we prepare for Oklahoma’s transition to a State-to-State (S2S) agency. This national system enhances security by preventing individuals from holding licenses in multiple states and ensures accurate, up-to-date driver records—an important step in our modernization efforts.
With each milestone, we’re laying the foundation for a system that will streamline operations and better support staff. More updates to come as we keep moving forward!
BOOST Demo
We’re excited to share an early look at BOOST in action! Watch the demo to see how the system handles key processes like adding a customer, issuing a license and managing suspended indicators.

Key Project Updates
As we move forward with Project BOOST, we recognize that changes in how transactions are processed and services are completed bring opportunities for improvement and growth.
Through definition meetings, demos and other phases, several key themes have emerged as priorities for the new system. To ensure visibility and transparency, here’s where we stand on these aspects of Project BOOST:
-
Training: Providing sufficient time and resources for staff training is critical. We are committed to offering ample opportunities for hands-on experience with the new system well before launch, with training beginning in July. Training will be designed to build confidence and familiarity with BOOST’s functionality ensuring staff are fully prepared.
-
Scanning Workflows: Clarifying how scanning will work—whether through drag-and-drop functionality or existing methods—is a high priority. While decisions are still being finalized we are actively collaborating with the FAST team to determine the most efficient and user-friendly approach for day one. Updates will be shared as soon as plans are solidified.
-
Notes and Flags: A robust notes feature along with proper flags or indicators for critical details is essential. BOOST will include a notes feature that allows staff to add comments and details about customer accounts. Additionally the system is being designed to go beyond the reliance on notes seen in the legacy system by introducing indicators that flag accounts and prompt specific actions. This approach aims to streamline processes and reduce manual entries creating a more efficient user-friendly system.
Booster Club Updates
Over the course of the second and third foundational demos, the Booster Club has provided invaluable feedback to help refine and enhance Project BOOST.
Key Highlights from the Demos:
-
Streamlined Navigation: Members praised the simplified interface, including single-page data entry and automation for routine tasks. These features reduce repetitive actions, improve workflow and enhance overall productivity.
-
Efficiency Gains: Features like early background checks and centralized customer information allow staff to focus on eligible transactions, leading to smoother customer interactions.
-
User Experience: The system's intuitive design earned high marks for being easy to navigate, even for new users, helping to make training and adoption seamless.
-
Ongoing Enhancements: Feedback around navigation for tasks like accessing test results or handling fees has been invaluable. Work is already underway to streamline these processes and ensure maximum efficiency for staff.
-
Enhanced Access: Direct access to critical details, like TSA expiration dates and automated notifications, demonstrates the system’s focus on clarity and efficiency.
The Booster Club remains a vital part of ensuring BOOST meets the needs of our team and customers. Their enthusiasm and insights are helping shape a system that’s truly transformative. As always, Booster Club members are available to answer questions or pass along feedback, so don’t hesitate to connect with them!
