TV Stations Say Getting a REAL ID is Quick and Easy With the REAL ID deadline less than four months away, TV stations told their viewers this morning that they can get the credential at 270 locations across the state. KOTV News on 6 in Tulsa reminded its audience that come May 7, Oklahomans will need a REAL ID to board domestic flights, visit military bases or certain federal buildings, unless they have an unexpired U.S. passport or another acceptable form of ID.
Meanwhile, on KWTV News 9 in Oklahoma City this morning, anchor Lacie Lowry said she already got her REAL ID. She also told viewers that Service Oklahoma has streamlined the process for getting an appointment, making it much quicker than before. Lacie was likely referring to our live wait map and online check-in systems, which allow users to pick a location closest to them and save a spot in line—all from the comfort of their homes.
Media Outlets Highlight Service Oklahoma Milestones This week, News 9 also looked back on Service Oklahoma's accomplishments from 2024. Yesterday evening, the station mentioned highlights from our recent news release, including the more than 5 million vehicle registrations we processed last year and the implementation of the Mason Treat Act, which adds a required vehicle pre-registration process to improve road safety. More than 160,000 vehicles have been pre-registered within the first four months of the law, so we are grateful for your collaboration with our partners to reach this significant milestone!
The Oklahoma Farm Report shared our 2024 achievements as well, by posting the news release on its website.
