As we move into the colder months, the possibility of inclement weather increases. Your safety and preparedness are top priorities for us. To ensure you’re informed of weather-related service reductions or closures, we strongly encourage all employees to sign up for weather closure notifications from the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety (DPS).
How to Sign Up for Notifications
- Visit the DPS notifications page: https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/okdps/subscriber/new.
- If it’s your first time registering, create an account and password.
- After logging in, confirm “Statewide Weather Notifications” is selected.
- Choose to receive updates via text or email, then click Submit.
- You will receive notices of state service reductions and should watch for updates specific to your location’s county.

Important Reminders

Authority to Grant Leave: Administrative Leave is granted only for specific locations and periods as determined by DPS through service reductions or closures.

Administrative Leave Eligibility: Full-time Service Oklahoma employees scheduled to physically work at an affected location are eligible for Administrative Leave during the closure period for their specific location.

Leave Clarifications:
- Employees already scheduled to telework or on pre-approved paid leave during the affected time are not eligible for Administrative Leave.
- If you call in before inclement weather is declared, your absence will be considered pre-approved leave and will not qualify for Administrative Leave.
