We shared updates on employee engagement, key projects and news from our driver license and motor vehicle teams. Here’s a quick recap:
Pulse Check Survey: If you haven’t already, please take a few minutes to complete the employee Pulse Survey before it closes this afternoon. Early results show staff feel connected to our mission but there's a clear need for comprehensive procedure manuals and improved communication. We're looking to bring in additional resources to expedite getting procedure manual in your hand and working on a plan to better equip managers to provide day-to-day updates to their staff.
SOK Intranet: We’re excited to launch the pilot version of the SOK intranet by Oct. 1. This initial version is just the beginning—we’ll be gathering your feedback to shape future improvements based on your needs.
Open Enrollment Coming Soon: The open enrollment period for employee benefits starts Oct. 1 and runs throughout the month. HR will be traveling statewide to host Q&A sessions and one-on-one consultations will be available to help you make the most of your benefits.
Project BOOST: A big thank you to our subject matter experts for taking on additional responsibilities to support the development of Oklahoma's new driver license system. We're also introducing the Booster Club—21 SOK team members who will take part in demos and offer feedback, acting as a system of checks and balances for our subject matter experts. This group will be a key resource for those of you working with the system daily, offering updates and answering questions.
REAL ID: The deadline is set for May 7, 2025, with no further extensions expected. The Department of Homeland Security has released a request for comment from Federal Agencies regarding a potential phased implementation but nothing is confirmed yet. We'll share more as that news develops and we prepare to ensure all Oklahomans can get their REAL ID by the deadline. We're excited to note that you can now track REAL ID progress on our website’s Real ID Tracker.
Mason Treat Act (SB2035): In just 19 days since the legislation launched, over 15,000 pre-registrations have been completed and the numbers keep growing. Public education has been a success and we’ve strengthened our partnerships with licensed operators and dealers through the process. A big thank you to the team for their efforts.
New Claremore Location Coming Soon: Claremore is getting a brand-new physical location and we’re excited to move in within the next couple of weeks. We’ll be sharing more details as we get closer to opening.
Online Written Tests: As we continue to look at ways to improve accessibility and access to our services, we’re working on rolling out online written tests, aiming for a soft launch early next year. This update will help reduce congestion at our offices and is solution that has been securely and successfully adopted by more than 20 other jurisdictions.
It’s been a productive quarter and we’ve made great progress! We're looking forward to even more exciting things in Q4 as we continue to serve Oklahomans with the excellence they deserve. Let’s keep the momentum going.
