Welcome to the first issue of the BOOST Report!
We’re excited to bring you Volume 1: Issue 1 of the BOOST Report—your go-to source for all things related to Project BOOST, Oklahoma's new driver license system of record, launching in December 2025. This report is designed to give you quick updates, essential news and opportunities to get involved in shaping the future of our new system.
To give you an idea of where we are in the process, we’re deep in the development phase, which will continue through the end of the year. September’s focus is on CDL definitions, with financial definitions also kicking off this month. We’re also making steady progress on e-services, issuance and processes for business support services.
Inside this issue, you’ll find more about Project BOOST, including an introduction to your Booster Club, exciting highlights of the system’s new features and ways you can get involved this month. As always, we encourage you to share your questions or feedback here. Your insights are essential as we navigate the 15-month development process.
Dive in and explore your monthly BOOST Report—there’s lots to look forward to!
Project BOOST Q&A
Before starting development of the new system, we asked those working regularly in the driver license system to share your questions. Your feedback is guiding our communication, training, and system development. In this month's BOOST Report, we’re answering some of your top questions.
Q: What made FAST stand out from the other potential vendors? A: FAST has implemented driver and vehicle services technology in 21 state motor vehicle agencies and works with over 95 client agencies worldwide. Their software is used by 73 government agencies across the U.S., as well as by several international provinces and nations.
Q: How will SOK staff and FAST staff work together during the development process? A: FAST will work onsite with us throughout implementation and beyond. By year-end, nearly 40 FAST developers, or “Fasties,” will be in Oklahoma City, collaborating in formal definition meetings and other ways to deliver a system that meets all of our goals.
Q: What will training look like for the new system? A: BOOST training will include four tiers, each building on the last. It will feature a mix of instructor-led sessions, video modules, online resources, and hands-on practice. Training will begin mid-to-late summer 2025 and continue into the fall.
New System Features: BOOST UPS
We’re thrilled to give you a preview of some of the exciting features coming with our new driver license system. With streamlined processes and cutting-edge tools, BOOST UPS will give you a sneak peek into the improvements that will enhance your day-to-day work. Here are just a few of the standout features:
-
Date Functionality: The new system will make entering dates easier than ever. You'll be able to use shortcuts, like typing "0" for today’s date or "-1" for yesterday and the system will auto-calculate.
-
Address Confidentiality Program: No need to remember the details of the Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) anymore. With the new system, you'll check a box and the correct ACP information will automatically populate in the record.
-
Expanded User Accounts: BOOST will enable the creation of specific user accounts for our trusted partners. Whether through direct login or e-services, they’ll have access to limited views, reducing the manual work for employees.
-
Sanction Timelines: The new system will display active suspensions along with a visual timeline, showing how long a customer has before their sanction expires. This functionality is part of the Driver Control system within BOOST, which handles sanctions and other back-office functions.
