We are less than a month away from the launch of the Mason Treat Act, SB2035, which creates a fundamental shift in the way temporary paper plates and metal license plates are issued in the state. Starting Sept. 1, 2024, dealers are required to submit pre-registration information to the state within two business days of a sale. The pre-registration information submitted by the dealer will then be used by licensed operators (formerly known as tag agents) to mail metal plates and pre-registration decals directly to the customer within ten days.
Service Oklahoma just launched ReadySetTag.com, creating a one-stop shop for you and your customers to access resources on the changes to the vehicle registration process starting Sept. 1. Ready, Set, Tag! is the public awareness campaign designed to educate Oklahomans about the new, quick and secure vehicle registration process under SB2035.
Last week, you received information on the methods available to dealers to submit pre-registration information, details on Dealer Office Hours with Service Oklahoma staff and a brief survey to help us better serve you and your organization. Thank you to everyone who has already completed the survey and participated in Dealer Office Hours!
Pre-Registration Submissions Through OkCARS As a reminder, OkCARS can be accessed at okcars.service.ok.gov. Active licensed dealers can use this link to log in to an existing OkCARS login or to request a dealer login. If you've never been issued a dealer license plate from Service Oklahoma, please reach out to DealerSupport@service.ok.gov for help creating your OkCARS login.
