SB2035 requires dealers to submit pre-registration information to the state within two business days of a sale. The pre-registration information submitted by the dealer will then be used by licensed operators to mail metal plates and pre-registration decals directly to the customer within ten days.
To meet those requirements, we’re making it easy for dealers to submit the pre-registration information online through OkCARS. Service Oklahoma is here to support you through these changes. Read on to learn more about how you’ll submit pre-registration information starting Sept. 1.
If you have questions, please reach out to the Service Oklahoma team at DealerSupport@service.ok.gov. We are also excited to announce Dealer Office Hours, an opportunity for dealers to speak directly with the Service Oklahoma team, starting this Thursday, July 25, at 2 p.m.
Easily Submit Pre-Registration Information Online Through OkCARS Dealers will be able to enter pre-registration information through a dealer login on OkCARS, Service Oklahoma’s motor vehicle system. Dealers will enter pre-registration information for each sale through their OkCARS login and will select a licensed operator, formerly tag agent, to process the pre-registration transactions.
OkCARS can be accessed at okcars.service.ok.gov. Active licensed dealers can use this link to log in to an existing OkCARS login or to request a dealer login. If you've never been issued a dealer license plate from Service Oklahoma, please reach out to DealerSupport@service.ok.gov for help creating your OkCARS login.
Other Pre-Registration Options To provide flexibility based on your organization’s needs, dealers also have the option to upload bulk sales transactions through a file transfer through their Dealer Management System (DMS) provider or an approved temporary tag vendor.
If you’d like to explore the DMS option, please contact the Service Oklahoma team at DealerSupport@service.ok.gov for technical specifications. For more information on approved temporary tag vendors, please contact the appropriate motor vehicle commission.
Complete Dealer Survey to Help Us Serve You To better serve you and your organization, Service Oklahoma is requesting your participation in a brief survey. This will help ensure we provide you with the necessary resources, training and support you may need for implementation.
Dealer Office Hours with Service Oklahoma Staff Starting this Thursday, July 25, Service Oklahoma staff will host weekly Dealer Office Hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. so you can easily and quickly speak with our team, ask questions or discuss the changes.
