For vaccinations administered by Oklahoma State Dept. of Health District 8- Carter, Garvin, Jefferson, Johnston, Love, Marshall, Murray, Pontotoc, and Stephens Counties, appointments are required for first and second dose vaccines. Please do not attempt to "walk in" at the original location when the booster dose is due. We are prioritizing second dose appointments and will offer as many appointments as we can each week.
If you registered for your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine through the online scheduling system https://vaccinate.oklahoma.gov/, but you haven’t received an email with a link to book your second dose, you will need to re-register in order to schedule your second dose.
As you re-register through vaccinate.oklahoma.gov, you will need to use either an alternate email address, or additional details in your name (for example, spelling out your full, legal middle name if you used your middle initial the first time). Follow the steps below to indicate you are seeking your second dose appointment.
Step 1: Re-register at https://vaccinate.oklahoma.gov, using either an alternate email address or adding additional details in your name (example: spell out middle name).
Step 2: Once you reach the questions: pay special attention to the question asking “Will this be your first COVID-19 vaccine dose?” Answer “no”.
Step 3: The question “Was your first vaccine appointment booked from this portal?” Answer “no”. You must answer “no” even if you did book your first appointment through the online scheduling system.
Step 4: Next question with a drop down menu “Please select from the dropdown list below to show your vaccine type - Pfizer or Moderna?” You will need to indicate the type of vaccine you received for your first dose. This can be found on the immunization record card that was given to you at the time you received your first dose.
After you submit your information and are determined eligible again, you will be able to search for open appointments. Some will be listed as Moderna 2nd Dose Only, and some will be listed as Pfizer 2nd Dose Only. Make sure you choose the correct appointment to ensure we have the dose you need.
You will not be able to get your second dose if you schedule too early. The second dose cannot be given more than 4 days before the date on your vaccination card, so watch out when booking. Scheduling after the due date is acceptable. The series does not have to start over if you are late.
*Do not get the COVID-19 vaccine if you are currently positive or under quarantine as a close contact*
If you need to make a change after receiving an email with an appointment confirmation, please note that if you click the link to change your appointment, there may not be another opening at that time. New appointments are typically loaded on Wednesday evenings or Thursdays for events the following week. We are waiting for weekly vaccine shipment confirmations to know how many spots we can offer.
If you have questions, or trouble with the online scheduling portal, you can call 211. More vaccine information, including Frequently Asked Questions, can be found at https://oklahoma.gov/covid19/vaccine-information. Replies to this email cannot be answered.
