Dear Fellow Educator:
What a week it has been! Monday’s “Brighter Future” Education Rally was a fantastic gathering in which teachers, parents and students came together and made their voices heard. I had the privilege of speaking to the participants and sharing some key messages:
I believe that an engaged community is key for student success. This week we came together for a stronger education. It’s not about party. It’s not about Democrats. It’s not about Republicans. Our children don’t have party affiliations. It’s about results for kids. Let’s stand together for the youngest generation — the future of Oklahoma.
In my two and a half months as your State Superintendent, I have been in classrooms all across our state. I see committed teachers with complex challenges which won’t be solved with bumper sticker solutions. We must continue to do whatever it takes for our students to succeed. I will not turn my back nor give up. I will be an advocate for our children alongside you. I have a message for the “Blame-Teachers-First" crowd: You're out of touch, you're on the wrong side of history and we will work tirelessly for our children regardless of what obstacles are put in the way.
If I missed you on Monday, here’s a video link to my message to you.
Thank you for your passion, your commitment and your hard work. And have a great weekend!
Sincerely,

Joy Hofmeister
