SDE – Wave First Quarter Dropout Report goes live!

The Wave First Quarter Dropout Report is now open on the Wave Web Site.  This report is due January 5, 2014.   The Quarterly Dropout Report used to be hand-entered in a different location (formerly School District Reporting site), but will now be prepopulated using Wave data transmitted directly from your local student information system.  Not only will the data be prepopulated live from your system, the Wave system will also be looking across districts in the state to help locate students who are thought to be dropouts, but who actually enrolled in another school district in Oklahoma.

Location – Single Sign On:   https://sdeweb01.sde.ok.gov/SSO2/Signin.aspx

After logging into Single Sign On, select “The Wave’s Portal” from the list of applications.  Once inside the Wave, click on “State Reporting Certification” located under the “Reporting” tab and then click on “First Quarter Dropout Report.”

Access – Superintendents, Site Principals, and Wave District Administrators automatically have access to the Wave First Quarter Dropout Report.  All other users will need the role “Dropout Report Access” added to their account by their District Superintendent or District Single Sign On Log On Administrator.  Note:  Because the drop out report existed previously in another location, all users who had access to that report have been granted access to the new report by default.  If for some reason you cannot see the report, contact your District Superintendent or Log On Administrator, and they can set you up with the appropriate role.

Completing the Report – Begin reviewing the data now and make any necessary corrections in your local system so that your report contains all of the students who are dropouts for the first quarter.  The report updates nightly pulling in any changes you make in your local system.

Q&A Webinars – We are conducting Question and Answer Webinars about the Dropout Report.  The format will be a review of the training video followed by any questions and answers schools may have regarding the drop out report on the Wave.  To register go to:  https://oksdetraining.webex.com and select “Upcoming.”  The topic will be “Wave First Quarter Dropout Report.”  Register for only one as the sessions are repeats.
