Dear Superintendents and Principals,
The district survey portion of the Annual Technology Survey listed in Accountability at a Glance is now available but we need your help in getting the word out about the complementary surveys. The district survey is available in the Single Sign On under Oklahoma Annual District Technology Survey and the due date has been extended to January 15, 2014.
Complementary Surveys (please share links)
The number of questions in the district survey has been greatly reduced, but accurate results for Oklahoma do require a good completion rate for the Project Tomorrow Speak Up Survey and the Oklahoma School Speed Test. Please help get the word out by sharing the links below.

More about the Complementary surveys
Project Tomorrow Speak Up: Join the conversation about the use of technology for learning. Each district that participates will get a report from Project Tomorrow of the data findings in their district, along with state and national results, to use for grant writing, planning, budgeting and purchasing decisions, and bond proposals. Districts that have at least 20% of their students participate will have the option of a complimentary webinar with Project Tomorrow to review their own district's data. The Speak Up survey is meant to be taken by faculty, staff, students, administrators, parents, and community members as it records how they use technology inside and outside of school. The survey is a great way to get feedback from parents who work during the school day, and from community members who may not have children in the school.
If you would like additional information or have questions, please contact the Speak Up team at speakup@tomorrow.org or 949 609-4660 ext 17.
Oklahoma School Speed Test: Many districts have upgraded their broadband connections over the summer, which includes those districts now able to take advantage of some of the 1005 miles of new fiber installed in Oklahoma as part of the Oklahoma Community Access Network. The speed test measures speed from the computer to a connection in the "cloud" (Internet cloud). As a "keyboard-to-cloud" test, it reflects the Internet performance that a teacher or student will see in the classroom. The best results are available with ten or more speed tests per building done at various times, but the more the better. Faculty, staff, and students have shown they are willing to help – please share the link with them. The speed test will help determine overall improvement to school connectivity in Oklahoma compared to February and the results will help policy makers at the state and federal level advocated for appropriate funding to connect all classrooms with high speed, reliable Internet.
You may see the results for your schools by going to http://schoolspeedtest.org/stats/district.html. The password is fispergo.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Warm regards,
Derrel
