Dear Oklahoma Educator,
A second Oklahoma City Diabetes Management in Schools Training has been opened from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on September 26.
Effective July 1, 2007, the Diabetes Management in Schools Act, House Bill 1051, requires:
- That a diabetes medical management plan be developed for each student with diabetes.
- If a school does not have the services of a school nurse, they shall make an effort to recruit a volunteer diabetes care assistant.
DIABETES MANAGEMENT IN SCHOOLS TRAINING is for anyone with the responsibility of a diabetes medical management plan of a student at school. This can include teachers, school nurses, and school personnel.
There is no cost to attend the workshop.
Training will be offered:
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

- Thursday, September 19, 2013 – Idabel, OK
- Thursday, September 26, 2013 - OKC, OK
- Thursday, October 24, 2013 – Ardmore, OK
- Thursday, November 14, 2013 – Tulsa, OK
- Thursday, February 27, 2014 – Lawton, OK
- Thursday, March 6, 2014 – Ponca City, OK
- Thursday, March 27, 2014 – Woodward, OK
- Thursday, April 3, 2014 – Tahlequah, OK
