Superintendents,

Just letting you know we sent the message below to educators earlier this week and the response from teachers has been extremely positive with over 100 applicants in only four days. We intend to accept one math and one science teacher from each of the 30 REAC3H Coach regions. Please help ensure teachers from your district and region are represented in the applicant pool.

Announcing OKMath OKSci Leadership

The Oklahoma State Department of Education is proud to announce the request for applicants to OKMath and OKSci Leadership.  

Recognizing the value of leadership programs such as Leadership Oklahoma and Ag Leadership Oklahoma, it is the vision of the OSDE to empower teachers to lead the state in math and science education.  

Moreover, this program will create and support a dynamic network of Oklahoma Math and Science educators whose increased awareness and commitment to service will energize Oklahomans to shape Oklahoma’s future in mathematics and science education. OKMath and OKSci Leadership is a statewide leadership program that selects, challenges, develops and educates Oklahoma math and science educators who have demonstrated an interest in leadership skills related to mathematics and science education.  

The 2013-2014 Class will serve as a Beta Class for the new program and selected members will contribute significantly to the future design of the two programs. Please review the attached application. If you desire to expand your impact on student's lives, but can't see yourself leaving the classroom, this program is perfect for you. Please consider applying and sharing with other educators.

Applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 pm on June 28, 2013. The attached form must be signed and faxed to 405-521-4855, and the primary portion of the application must be completed via Survey Monkey. A link is provided in the attachment.
