The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) has created user-friendly guides to help families navigate the evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence (AI). As AI becomes increasingly prevalent in our daily lives, it is essential for families to understand its potential impact and how to use it responsibly. These printable resources offer valuable information and practical tips on how to support children's understanding and ethical use of AI at home. The guides will be accessible on the OSDE's Family Guides webpage in both English and Spanish. A pdf copy of these are also attached to this email. Guides in Vietnamese and Marshallese are available upon request via emailing Karen.Leonard@sde.ok.gov.
The rapid advancement of AI technologies presents both immense potential and unique challenges for our educational landscape. To ensure that Oklahoma's students and educators are well-prepared for this evolving environment, we are initiating a critical project: the revision of our current AI guidance for K-12 schools.
