AI Implementation Spotlight-Deer Creek

Sidekick

Teachers at Deer Creek are achieving great success with AI study bots and student-centered learning spaces! These AI-powered Spaces are designed as interactive learning experiences created by teachers for students. Think of them as an extension of the classroom teacher, enabling personalized teaching and self-paced learning tailored to each student’s unique needs.

AI study bots, like schoolAI's sidekick, complement or even replace traditional study guides. The Sidekick acts as a personal tutor, helping students conduct research, understand concepts, and receive support whenever needed.

More information on spaces and sidekicks can be found here.

Email Karen.Leonard@sde.ok.gov to share how your school is using AI.

Informal AI Discussions

In addition to the AI webinars, the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) plans to provide open-ended discussion sessions focused on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in K-12 classrooms. These sessions will create a space for educators, administrators, and other stakeholders to engage in meaningful conversations about integrating AI into educational practices. Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences, ask questions, and explore the challenges and opportunities associated with AI tools in teaching and learning.

These discussion times are designed to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among participants, allowing them to discuss strategies for responsible AI implementation, address concerns about privacy and ethics, and brainstorm innovative ways to enhance student engagement and outcomes using AI. By offering these interactive sessions, OSDE aims to build a supportive community that equips educators with the insights and confidence needed to navigate the evolving AI landscape in education.

You are welcome to attend one or all of these sessions. These sessions will occur from 7:00-8:00 PM, on the last Tuesday of each monthRegister for all sessions using this link
