2024 Eva K. Unterman Conferences for Visual Arts Educators

degenerate art pic

In 2022, Senate Bill 1671 instituted ongoing professional development about how to teach the Holocaust. Visual art teachers are invited to learn more about the Holocaust and how to effectively add Holocaust-related topics such as degenerate art, art created during the Holocaust, etc., to their curriculum in grades 6-12.

Consider attending one of the free, one-day conferences in June 2024 in Enid, Tulsa, Norman, or Lawton. The conferences offer an important opportunity to learn how and why the lessons of the Holocaust are still relevant to our world nearly 80 years later and how they have impacted visual arts. The conferences will provide breakfast, lunch, and seven hours of professional development. Registration is already available.

Contact Nancy Pettus, the SB1671 Professional Development Consultant, with any questions.
