Single Sign-On Deadline Extended

Deadline Extension: June 16, 2023

Before logging into SSO please be sure to:

• Develop the mental health crisis protocol - using this Mental Health Protocol Guidance Document.
• Obtain Memorandums of Understandings with Mental Health Partners as outlined in the protocol guidance AND include them in your protocol upload.
• Review the rubric provided at the back of the guidance document.

Once you are ready to upload - please follow these steps:

1. Log into Single Sign On.
2. Click on your role under "District Bullying Prevention Policy".
3. Click on the "Mental Health" tab.
4. Select a Mental Health Partner.  Depending on your browser, you may have to hover over the white space next to the "Mental Health Partner" text or click once on that white space for the dropdown selection to appear.  Please note that you must select one from the dropdown, not type it into the box.
5. Choose your file.  PDF or DOCX should work.  The file must be less than 25 MB.
6. Once you have selected the partner and added a file, click the "Upload" button. 
7. The upload may take a minute or two so please be patient.  It should refresh with a note indicating the file was uploaded.

Districtwide Student Needs Assessment

Deadline Approaching: June 30th

The Districtwide Student Needs Assessment is now open on Single Sign-On.

This report collects information regarding GPA, attendance, promotion, and suspension data for all students in grades 7-12. 

Note: This report should include information on ALL students, not just those in alternative education programs.

Information collected for this report should be used to determine at-risk student needs while also serving as a resource in the development of your district's Alternative Education Implementation Plan.

All districts are required to complete this report, which is due June 30.

OSDE's Health Education Professional Development

The Oklahoma State Department of Education is excited to announce free professional development workshops for the 2023-24 school year. These 2-day workshops are being offered in different regions of the state from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are designed to support educators with effective instructional strategies aligned to the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Health Education.

These workshops are perfect for educators looking to implement health education instruction to meet the requirements of the Health Education Act, identify a new Professional Learning (PL) Focus, or deepen expertise in an existing PL Focus.

Megan is a high school counselor committed to building a comprehensive school counseling program that results in positive outcomes for all students. We are grateful for all you do to serve your students and your community, Megan!

What makes you unique as a school counselor?

I think my ability to identify systems that need improving and finding effective solutions makes me unique. My passion lies in program management, and I think I make a positive impact on students, teachers, and my fellow counselors when I find a more efficient solution to a system. No one loves a Microsoft Form and a QR code like I do!

Why is creating a comprehensive school counseling program important to you?

A comprehensive program is important to me because it is proven to help students AND makes my job easier and more organized. All students receive services through a comprehensive program regardless of if they seek out the school counselor or not! Seeing the impact comprehensive programs can have on the entire school motivates me to work towards creating a program in such a large high school.

What is a quote that inspires you?

 “Either you run the day or the day runs you.” -Jim Rohn 

This quote always inspires me and reminds me that my mindset is everything!

What do you do when you need inspiration to tackle another day working on behalf of students?

At the very beginning of my career, a wise school counselor told me to keep a stack of notes from students to look back on when I’m having a rough day. I still rely on those notes for an extra pick-me-up and they remind me why I do this job!

What do you do to decompress and refuel for the next day?

I love taking walks around the neighborhood with my family or sitting out on my patio on a nice day!
