Congrats to CLASS Grant 2.0 Recipients

Congratulations to the 6,900 teachers who were awarded a CLASS Grant 2.0 using pandemic relief funds from the Oklahoma State Department of Education! Check out the DonorsChoose CLASS Grant 2.0 page for a full listing of all OSDE-funded grants.

Administrators: Don't forget to sign up for the free District Partnership agreement with a unique landing page with all funded grants from your district, a full inventory of all grant materials delivered to your district/school and early notifications on additional funds offered by the DonorsChoose Community.

Due Jan. 1: Speech Language Pathologist and NASP School Psychologist Certification Verification for Stipend Approvals

Speech language pathologists and NASP school psychologists should check their Single Sign-On accounts to verify that OSDE has their national certification on file for 2023 in order to be listed on the stipend approvals list. All ASHA cards expire Dec. 31, so new 2023 cards must be submitted to OSDE.

New cards may be submmited via email to bunny.farley@sde.ok.gov or fax to (405) 522-1520.

Documentation and/or 2023 cards must be submitted by Jan. 1, as the system will open for stipend approvals shortly after that date.

The ELPA Indicator Explained

Ahead of the release of the Oklahoma School Report Cards, the Office of English Language Proficiency encourages administrators to view the English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA Indicator): Explained webinar and accompanying slide deck to reacquaint LEAs with:

The ELPA Indicator and 2022 adjustments
How an anticipated year to exit a Language Instruction Educational Program (LIEP) is determined
How an English Learner’s annual growth target is calculated
How the ELPA Indicator is calculated
How a progress score and report card score are calculated
