Applications are now being accepted for the 2023 Winter OSDE Boot Camp. The dates for Boot Camp will be January 9, 2023 - March 11, 2023.
Boot Camp is one of the provisional special education teacher certification programs offered in Oklahoma. There are currently three boot camp enrollment options in Oklahoma: state-level offered by Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE), district-level offered by some Oklahoma school districts, and higher education programs. Candidates who meet the criteria in obtaining a non-traditional special education certification may apply for consideration when cohorts are available. Space is limited, and acceptance into the OSDE boot camp program is not a guarantee.
Once you have all documents in addition to the application, please email to Carolyn Thomas and/or Megan Horton. The deadline for this Boot Camp is December 20, 2022.
Additional information can be found on the Boot Camp Informational Flyer.
**Any late applications will be held for the following Boot Camp sessions.
Words can open doors, enabling persons with intellectual disabilities to lead fuller, more independent lives. Words can also create barriers to stereotypes that are not only demeaning, but which also rob persons with intellectual disabilities of their individuality. Special Olympics is creating an inclusive world, where we focus on abilities, not disabilities. The following language guidelines have been developed by experts for use by anyone writing or speaking about persons with intellectual disabilities, ensuring that all people are portrayed with individuality and dignity.
Considering joining United Champion School?

At Special Olympics Oklahoma, we are committed to the success of your Unified Champion School®. Presence (formerly PresenceLearning) has been working with the The Oklahoma State Department of Education for the past year to support those districts in the state that have experienced difficulty in completing timely assessments in relation to Indicator 11 (timley initial evaluations). Presence is also available to support Oklahoma school districts who find themselves needing ancillary service providers such as School Psychologists/Mental Health, Speech Pathologists, and Occupational Therapist through their award winning, proprietary, and secure platform.
