First-time special education directors who will be working for an Oklahoma public school during SY2022-23 are eligible to participate in the 2022-23 First-Year Special Education Directors Project. The program begins on July 1 and is administered by the Oklahoma Directors of Special Services (ODSS)/Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA) under contract with the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE).
Through the program, participating first-year directors will be assigned an experienced special education director/mentor they can call on for assistance and support and will be provided resources and in-person and virtual training. There is no charge to the first-year director or their district to participate.

If you have students who are struggling readers (below the 15th percentile), Dyslexia Help, LLC is interested in partnering with you to help them to become competent readers. Dyslexia Help's evaluation and intervention strategies are science-based and are offered one-on-one or in very small groups (two or three students) online.

OSDE-Special Education Services is pleased to announce its partnership with Dr. Scott Singleton, to provide behavioral science training to district staff to increase its capacity in addressing significant student behavior. Dr. Scott Singleton BCBA-D, NCSP has worked in the behavioral science and education field for over 20 years. He has served as a school psychologist in multiple states, the response to intervention coordinator for a large urban school district, clinical director for a school for children with developmental disabilities and is currently a professor of psychology at the University of Central Oklahoma where he oversees Behavior Central, a center for teacher training and behavioral consultation, and the master’s program in behavior analysis.

All K-3 school sites will have access to curated universal supports and three years of sequenced professional development. ATSI school sites will have an additional invitation to apply for instructional coaching.
