Due May 23: Health & Physical Education Curriculum Framework Project Applications

OSDE is seeking health and physical education educators to participate in the Oklahoma Health and Physical Education Curriculum Framework project.

Curriculum frameworks are sets of curricular resources developed by Oklahoma teachers to help educators translate the Oklahoma Academic Standards into classroom practice and have been developed for five subject areas to-date. Over the next two years, OSDE will work with selected health and physical education teachers to develop resources for health and physical education.

Applications are now available for Year 1 or Phase 1 of the project, which will include the development of detailed overviews of each standard, how students can show they are meeting the goals, how teachers can support students in meeting those goals and key understanding associated with each standard.

Educators interested in applying to be a curriculum framework writer for the Oklahoma Health and Physical Education Curriculum Framework project must complete this application no later than May 23 at 11:59 p.m.

Selections will be announced no later than June 16. Compensation will be provided to those selected to work on the project.

Changes to Transcript Exchange

OSDE, in partnership with Parchment, has launched a transcript service to make the request and delivery of electronic transcripts available at no charge to all public K-12 districts. This service allows educators, students and families to digitally transfer academic records among districts and postsecondary institutions at the push of a button.

What's changing?

Beginning July 1, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education is suspending the electronic transcript exchange service through OKcollegestart.org.

Will postsecondary institutions be able to access transcripts after July 1?

Transcript recipients will have until July 31 to access the transcripts high schools send before July 1.

If you have questions about the OKcollegestart transcript exchange service, contact Theresa Shaklee, OKcollegestart Coordinator, at tshaklee@ocap.org.

To learn more and join the OSDE transcript exchange network, visit https://www.okedge.com/educators/electronic-transcript/ or complete this sign up form to start the e-transcript process.
