TIP for EdPlan Administrators

It is crucial to have at least three future Calendar years in the list of school years. The future school years are used with the calculation of the Projected IEP Date and Projected Eligibility Date located on the Student’s Eligibility Process/Referral page. Future Calendars use temporary ‘place holder’ dates that are easily updated when your school board determines the actual District Calendar dates. A good set of placeholder dates are the federal reporting period dates of July 1 as begin date and June 30 of the following year as the end date. When the actual District Calendar dates are determined by the school board, enter the first instructional date as the begin date for the current school year on the School years page.

Visit EdPlan Administrator’s Guide with step-by-step instructions starting on page 32

OSD Foundation Golf Tournament

The Oklahoma School for the Deaf serves students, schools, families, and professionals statewide. This year, OSD will serve over 400 students and over 90 school districts across the state at no charge through direct service on campus, educational consulting in the public school, early intervention, summer camps, ASL classes, professional development, and more.

Most public schools have foundations or booster organizations for their local district. Because OSD serves students from across the state, it is likely that your school district has been served by OSD at some point. Please consider supporting or participating in the annual OSD Foundation golf tournament fundraiser by sponsoring a hole, entering a team, or making a donation.

The Oklahoma School for the Deaf Foundation is an independent board of trustees. The foundation provides funds for school programs and projects not otherwise funded. Grants from The OSD Foundation have provided educational benefits and opportunities for both teachers and students.

Information is relevant to the needs of those individuals who currently appear unable to communicate their wants and needs spontaneously in their environment, regardless of age or severity of physical and/or cognitive differences. It includes assessment, implementation and evaluation of effectiveness strategies.

Each session carries over information learned from the previous, so registration for all four sessions is required to complete the training.
