New Policies and Procedures Webinar

This webinar will cover the changes that will take place beginning with the FY22-23 school year for full implementation of HB2520.

Districtwide Student Needs Assessment

Window: May 1 - June 30

Legislation: 70 O.S. § 1210.569

Description: Annual reporting of district student data in areas of attendance, suspension, promotion, GPA, etc.

Location: Single Sign On > Districtwide Student Needs Assessment

Alternative Education Student Data

Window: May 1 - June 30

Legislation: 70 O.S. § 1210.568

Description: Districts will provide Alternative Education student data to OSDE.

Activity: OSDE will send out a link to the emails provided by the district in the Alternative Education Implementation Plan the beginning of May.

2022 MTSS Summer Conference

The annual Oklahoma MTSS Summer Conference will feature oral presentations, stakeholder buy-in, prevention and intervention methods, mental health and integration alignment, classroom strategies, and other aspects of implementing a multi-tiered system of support for school communities.

National Alternative Education Conference

Start making plans to attend this conference in the fall! Information about NAEA can be found here.

Meet with others from around the country who share your passion for teaching our most at-risk students. Attend numerous breakout sessions to learn and share ideas with other educators.

An example of the 2021 conference sessions can be found here. If you would like to present at the national conference, submissions are now open.

Program Focus

Union Public Schools made a trip to the capitol with 30 of their Alternative Education students and two teachers to speak with legislators about particular bills that will harm public education and share with them how vital our program is to our students. It’s great to see schools advocating for our programs!
