March & April: Social & Emotional Well-Being Online Series for District Leaders & Teachers

OSDE has partnered with SWIFT Education Center to provide online communities of practice for district leaders and teachers. These communities provide a space for Oklahoma educators to come together, build on collective experience and knowledge, and support one another during the school year.

This free online series will provide an opportunity to connect with Oklahoma colleagues who understand the current weight of meeting student needs while recognizing the need to also prioritize educator wellness.

Oklahoma Seal of Biliteracy February/March Timeline Check

The Oklahoma Seal of Biliteracy credential is available to every student who demonstrates recognized levels of proficiency in English and another language. As March begins, districts should begin arranging any needed assessments for students in 9th–12th grade who have been identified as candidates for the Oklahoma Seal of Biliteracy. For students to qualify, they must demonstrate proficiency in English and another language. Students can do so through:

  • Evidence of English language proficiency with an accepted assessment score on the ACT, SAT, WIDA or English Advanced Placement (AP) test
  • Evidence of proficiency in a language other than English with an accepted score on an approved assessment of target language proficiency such as an AP Language and Culture test or language proficiency assessment

Once students are identified as being potential candidates, continued support in developing and maintaining the language should be offered and arrangements made for them to take any further required assessments in English and/or the target language.

View a list of accepted language assessments here.
