OSDE is pleased to join with the Oklahoma Alliance for Arts Education and the Masonic Fraternity of Oklahoma for the 32nd annual State Superintendent Awards for Arts Excellence. This special recognition is given to high school juniors and seniors who meet certain criteria. In addition, the awards recognize fine arts educators, school administrators and school boards who exhibit leadership, support quality arts education and demand academic excellence in Oklahoma schools.
Teachers are encouraged to nominate colleagues for the arts educator award. Also, please consider nominating students, administrators and school boards for the 2022 Arts Excellence Awards.

The awards ceremony will be held in Guthrie at the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple on April 19.

In collaboration with OSDE, TeleEDGE provides participants a real-time option to learn and share with fellow educators across the state around a problem of practice. The goal is to address common challenges and find solutions.
TeleEDGE webinars are held the second Thursday of each month.

Research shows that students are more engaged in their learning when they are given a voice and feel connected. Oklahoma teachers will share their successes and challenges in using student surveys to move learning forward.

The Office of School Safety & Security will host "Human Trafficking in Schools" on Feb. 17 at 1:30 p.m. Participants will learn how trafficking really works and how to pay attention to warning signs.

Made possible through a Department of Justice grant, OSDE is offering free PREPaRE School Crisis Prevention & Intervention trainings in the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metro areas. Districts will be reimbursed following the training.
All public school employees are invited to attend.

In order to be certified as trained in PREPaRE and be listed on the National Registry, you must attend all of each workshop.
- Workshop 1 is one day and 100 spots are available.
- Workshop 2 covers two days and 40 spots are available each day.
You do not need to sign up for both workshops. However, first preference for a spot will be given to those who sign up for both.
Attendees will be required to take a pre-test the week before the training. OSDE will provide codes for attendees to use to take the pre-test.
Attendees will need to have a computer or tablet with them to access the materials. Participants are strongly encouraged to print the materials ahead of time. Attendees should also plan to bring their lunch.

Alternative Education allocation notices are now in Single Sign-On under the State Aid Management System.
A 50 percent payment will be allocated on Feb. 17. The remaining funds will be split into two payments later this spring.
Allocations are based on how districts coded students in their student information systems (SIS) last year (FY21) and incentive payments for districts participating in cooperative agreements.

The Federal Government is transitioning from DUNS to the new Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number in accordance with 2 CFR Part 25.
All organizations that receive federal dollars and already have a DUNS number will now have a new UEI number assigned to them. School districts must visit SAM.gov to retrieve their UEI number.
The DUNS number will be discontinued and no longer accessible on SAM after April 4.
