Oklahoma is pleased to announce that we were selected to pilot the Support for Emergency and Alternative Licensure Program for School Counselors (SEAL Program) through the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).
The SEAL Program was developed to support practicing school counselors who have not completed master’s level training in school counseling. The one-year program includes six intensive virtual training sessions that will help these school counselors develop the knowledge, attitude, and skills necessary to implement a school counseling program based on the ASCA National Model and the Oklahoma Comprehensive School Counseling Framework.
To qualify for the SEAL Program, school counselors must be emergency or alternatively certified and in their first two years as a school counselor.
Applications are due by August 1, 2021. To complete the SEAL application, click here.
