Tip of the Month

Diversity pic

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion. As we embark on the celebration of African American Heritage (Black History) Month, let us be mindful of the various needs and backgrounds of our students. Take this time to acknowledge the rich, cultural heritage of all students. How do you let students express and appreciate their culture? How do you recognize the contributions of other cultures around your program? How are students encouraged to respect the culture and heritage of their peers? Below are other national dates to mark on your calendars for the rest of this school year. Plan ahead and ask students for ways your program can support them and recognize their diverse backgrounds! Here is the link to a Multicultural Awareness Calendar published by the National PTA to help you get started!
