Dear District and School Leaders,

We are continuing to take in your feedback and address as many of your questions as possible. We greatly appreciate your participation in our regular calls. Your questions help to shape our next steps in supporting you.

To that end, we have updated our COVID-19 FAQs for Oklahoma Public Schools. In particular, I want to draw your attention to new information on student assessments, including requirements of the Reading Sufficiency Act and the eighth-grade reading assessment needed for new drivers. You'll also find new information regarding school board meetings and school elections. As is mentioned in the document, several items will be addressed at the State Board of Education Meeting this Wednesday, March 25, at 9:30 a.m. This meeting will be live-streamed at http://facebook.com/oklasde

You can expect additional guidance this week regarding students with disabilities and distance learning.

Thank you for your tireless work on behalf of our students. I am inspired by the plans you have put forward to support them in uncertain times.

Sincerely,

Joy Signature
