Superintendent's Student Advisory Council to meet Thursday
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister will host her first Student Advisory Council meeting of 2019 at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 31, in Senate Room 535 on the fifth floor of the Oklahoma State Capitol. Hofmeister formed the group in 2016 to provide a forum for student voices and concerns.
Seventy-seven students from across the state were chosen to participate in the council to discuss matters of importance for public education in Oklahoma. All were nominated by the superintendents of their districts.
For its first meeting, the students will explore ways to redefine the high school experience in Oklahoma to better prepare students for life after high school and remove barriers to success.
