FUND FOR TEACHERS awards summer fellowship grants to pre-K through 12th-grade teachers to pursue self-designed professional learning. Teachers decide what they want to learn and where they want to learn it. Their odysseys take them all over the world—as scientists, researchers, artists and agents of change—and they return to their classrooms with new ideas that transform student learning and achievement.

  • Up to $5,000 for an individual teacher, $10,000 for teams
  • Thanks to additional funding from an Oklahoma tribal alliance, Native American teachers are especially encouraged to apply

Applications due by January 31, 2019

The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) is excited to share the Oklahoma Family Guides for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies for Pre-K through 2nd Grade.

The OSDE Family Guides are resources aligned with the Oklahoma Academic Standards and developed specifically for Oklahoma families to complement classroom learning. They illustrate what is expected of students at each grade level in different content areas along with activities families can do at home to further support children's learning experiences.

Classroom Resources

Skype

Skype a Scientist matches scientists with classrooms around the world! Scientists will skype into the classroom for 30-60 minute Q and A sessions that can cover the scientist’s expertise or what it’s like to be a scientist. We want to give students the opportunity to get to know a “real scientist”, and this program allows us to reach students from all over the world without having to leave the lab! We have over 2000 scientists ready to chat, and teachers can choose the type of scientist that will fit their classroom. Let’s start a conversation!
