Playful Process, Serious Thought

Saturday, February 23, 9 AM-1 PM

Chisholm Elem. School, 2300 E 33rd Edmond, OK

Presenter: Connie Van Engen - Bell Prairie Elementary in the North Kansas City school district

The playful nature of the Schulwerk is a powerful tool in the music classroom. Play motivates and engages students. It is the responsibility of the music educator to guide students to see the dynamic intersections and the parallel pathways that exist in the “play” and the “learning”. In this workshop we will experience the Orff Schulwerk process of Imitation, Exploration and Improvisation through play and reflect on the musical learning that occurs as a result of our play.

Visit the event facebook page or chapter website for more information.
